The Favourite Emma Stone On How To Hold A Conversation, Take Risks And Actually Be Excited To Fail

The only American in the Favourite cast , Emma Stone learned to hold a conversation and take risks

Emma Stone, our May Favourite Philanthropist, happens to be the favourite star of a film that brings together power, love, lust, romance, danger, suspense, comedy and madness and teaches us how to hold a conversation and take risks without being afraid to fail.

I really like grammar. And spelling. I was a spelling-bee kid. I’m hard-core about grammar.

Emma Stone

When Emma was 14 -years-old, she made a PowerPoint presentation called ‘Project Hollywood 2004’, and invited her parents into her room and gave them popcorn. It worked. She moved to L.A. in January of 2004! Emma suffered from panic attacks but she worked hard to overcome her fear to perform and reach the top of her industry. Last week she said “You don’t have to be actor to overcome anxiety, you don’t have to be a writer to overcome it. You just have to find that thing within you that you are drawn to.”

Emma Stone hosted a virtual dance party to raise money for children’s mental health amid COVID-19. She explained how she learned to deal with anxiety and panic attacks: “Because the world is hard and scary and there’s a lot that goes on and if you’re very attuned to it, it can be crippling. But if you don’t let it cripple you and use it for something productive, it’s like a superpower.”

Emma’s Philanthropic work includes a wild range of causes and she is generously supporting adoption, orphans, AIDS & HIV, cancer, children, creative arts, education, health, human rights, hunger, poverty and women empowerment. She is lobbying for inclusion and the power of the women and often attends leadership initiatives alongside Shonda Rhimes, Christiane Amanpour and other purposeful leaders who are passionate about societal change.

Here are just a few of the charities she supports:

  • American Association for Cancer Research
  • American Civil Liberties Union
  • Cancer Research Institute
  • Entertainment Industry Foundation
  • Los Angeles LGBT Center
  • Melanoma Research Alliance
  • Revlon Run/Walk For Women
  • Stand Up To Cancer
  • Worldwide Orphans Foundation

Emma’ s debut in the TV series ‘The Partridge Family’ was followed by a few small roles in other TV shows (‘Malcolm in the Middle’ and ‘Drive’), but her film debut was in the ‘Superbad’ (2007) alongside Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. ‘The Rocker’, ‘Ghosts of Girlfriends Past’,‘Paper Man’, ‘Zombieland’, ‘Friends with Benefits’ and ‘Crazy Stupid Love’, are all part of her success but her role in the 2012 in the ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, was a huge commercial success and made her very popular.

In 2014, in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, Emma stone contributed to a huge success which was followed by her next successful performances in ‘Magic in the Moonlight’, ‘Aloha’ and ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’.

Finally, her remarkable performance in the 2016 American musical comedy ‘La La Land’ (directed by Damien Chazelle), won her an Oscar for ‘Best Actress’.

At 31 (born on November 6, 1988, in Arizona) Emma Stone is one of the most loved actresses in history. She won the hearts of millions of fans as well as the recognition of the industry, an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Golden Globe Award.

Featured by Times as the one of the 100 most influential people, Emma made it to Forbes Celebrity 100 twice (in 2013 and 2017) her net worth is approximately $30 million dollars at present.

Is Emma having body issues?

“You won’t hear me saying I have no body issues because I wouldn’t be human if I didn’t.”

I don’t want to be that kind of person that gets hippo skin. I want to keep my skin thin always because that is the only way to be a creative person and try to be authentic. I just want to be more of a real person, but I struggle with that too.

Favourite Quotes by Emma Stone

When I look back, I don’t have regrets. In the moment I am really, really hard on myself, I’m definitely my own worst critic and can be my own worst enemy, and I’m trying very hard not to be that.

“You know how sports teach kids teamwork and how to be strong and brave and confident? Improv was my sport. I learned how to not waffle and how to hold a conversation, how to take risks and actually be excited to fail.”

“So one day, in a fit of trying to do something different, I just dyed my hair dark brown and got my first role a week later, after which I thought: ‘People are closed-minded, man! Like a different hair color changes everything!’”

“My parents are both very funny but they’re also relatively soft-spoken, normal human beings while I’m just a lunatic. I don’t know where this loud, ballsy, hammy ridiculousness came from. I’m just glad I followed my goals and my parents did too. It’s not like we even had a plan when I dragged my mom to Los Angeles.”

“There’s so much I’m interested in that I didn’t discover in high school. For ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, because Gwen is a scientist, we went to a lab in San Diego, and we were learning about biology. And I’m fascinated! Because I never went to biology class in high school.”

“I used to spray tan a lot when I was a teenager. The last time I got spray-tanned was for the Golden Globes. And I was like, ‘I love spray-tanning so much.’ I still really like it. But it definitely makes me look like I have leprosy, after a point.”

“I am incredibly lucky in making a choice. I don’t assume that it will be the truth forever. I know how rare it is for an actor to get to do that and I know I’ve made mistakes based on certain ways of choosing. I know I will continue to make mistakes in ways of choosing, but the best I can do is just try to have all the pieces of the puzzle in place or not do it.”

and YES! Emma is getting married!

Emma had to put on hold her wedding to fiance Dave McCary but they are set to walk down the aisle in Los Angles once the ban on gathering is removed.

Let’s wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!
