Spirit in Hebrew {Breath of Life} the Hebrew was the language spoken in the heavens before creation, it was handed down from generation to generation starting with Adam all the way to Jacob and at one point in time it was the language of the whole earth before the tongues were split at the Tower of Babel.
The Spirit of God hath made us, and the breath {Ruach} of the Almighty hath given us life. God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath {Ruach} of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being. You have granted me life and loving devotion, and Your care has preserved my spirit. The life of every living thing is in His hand, as well as the breath of all mankind. But there is a spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding. This is what God says–He who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and its offspring, who gives breath to the people on it and life to those who walk in it!
