KRABI, Thailand (March, 2025)-  Banyan Tree Krabi is delighted to announce the appointment of Chef Emma (Ammaraporn Duangphophim) as the luxury beachfront resort’s new Executive Sous Chef. With more than 15 years of culinary expertise honed in some of Thailand’s top kitchens and prestigious international hotels, Chef Emma brings a wealth of experience, creativity and passion to the role.

A native of Bangkok, Chef Emma holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration and began her career in the bustling heart of Thailand’s culinary scene. Her impressive résumé includes pivotal roles at renowned properties such as the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel in Bangkok and most recently as Chef de Cuisine at both Avani+ Mai Khao Phuket and Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas in Malaysia.

Chef Emma’s culinary journey has taken her across borders and into a diverse range of kitchens, where she developed her signature style—a refined balance of tradition and innovation.

Now stepping into her role at Banyan Tree Krabi, a resort celebrated in the latest MICHELIN Guide to Thailand with the coveted “Two Keys” distinction, Chef Emma will oversee the daily operations of the resort’s three signature dining outlets.

These include [*The Naga Kitchen*](https://www.banyantree.com/thailand/krabi/dining/the-naga-kitchen), an all-day venue offering international fare; *Saffron*, Banyan Tree’s signature Thai fine dining restaurant; and *Kredkaew Bar*, a relaxed beachfront spot known for its stunning views and creative cocktails.

Chef Emma’s arrival marks an exciting chapter for the resort’s culinary team, which is already recognized for its[ commitment to sustainability ](https://richwoman.co/article/a-lunar-new-year-2025-adventure-at-phu-quoc-beach-resort)and local sourcing.

Guests can look forward to her influence across all culinary experiences, including the resort’s famed Bird’s Nest dining pods—an architectural and gastronomic highlight. Suspended among the trees and overlooking the azure waters of the Andaman Sea, these three pods offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience accessed via a short walkway from Saffron and a scenic ride on the resort’s electric funicular.

With her passion for [Thai heritage](https://richwoman.co/article/a-soulful-songkran-retreat-for-women-traveling-alone) and her eye on the future of sustainable gastronomy, Chef Emma is poised to elevate Banyan Tree Krabi’s Thai fine dinning even greater heights.
